About Me

Hi there! My name is Ruilin Wu, and you can call me Ryan.
I am a senior Biology and Computer Science student.

I am fascinated by the beauty and complexity of biological systems, and I am eager to use computational methods to unravel the mysteries of life. I aspire to be a scientist studying in the joint field of Bio and CS, such as Systems Biology, Computational Biology, and Bioinformatics.

In my free time, I enjoy working out, watching movies, listening to good music, and exploring new restaurants.

Thank you for visiting my website!

Inspiration

Heading into my last few months of college, I, like many others, have been constantly looking for where to go for the next chapter of my life. Looking back at what I have accomplished for the past few years to determine what I want to do in the future, I realized I did not have a personal space to share my identity and announce my existence.

That is why I created this personal website. Here, I will document my journey as a student and a researcher. This is a space to present my work, build my identity, and share my passions.

This is a celebration and exhibition of who I am beyond academics and research. I hope you enjoy exploring it as much as I enjoyed creating it!

My Story

Born and raised in Shanghai, I moved to the United States in 2022 to pursue my undergraduate degree at Davidson College.

Before Davidson, I always knew I wanted to study Biology to which I have been committed since high school. However, it was not until I took my first Computer Science course at Davidson that I discovered my passion for computational problem-solving as well.

Since then, I have been fascinated by the intersection of both disciplines and have been actively seeking opportunities to combine them in my academic and research pursuits.

Currently, I am looking for Research Assistant/Technician positions in institutes for the next two years before applying to graduate school.
